TA Preparedness Workshop

Whether you already have a TA position or are just thinking about applying, make sure you start off on the right foot with the Teaching & Learning Centre’s TA Preparedness Workshop. We’ll cover the basics – roles, responsibilities and relationships – then take a deeper look at the skills you’ll need to succeed as a TA. Learn strategies for running tutorials, office hours and labs; get tips on grading effectively; and find out how to lead discussions and handle difficult situations. We’ll also look at working with instructors and provide you with resources you can use later. The TA Preparedness Workshop is offered over two days and is free for all graduate students. Students must attend all sessions in order to receive a letter of completion. If they must miss a session, they can qualify for a letter of completion by attending the missed session at a future TA Prep Workshop.
